Fruit Cocktail Cake

17 ounce can fruit cocktail (drained)
1 cup sugar
1 1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons fruit cocktail juice
1 egg (beaten)

Preheat oven to 350º. Butter and lightly flour a loaf pan. Sift together dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients, blend thoroughly. Pour into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream.
