Children's Book

          There are companies that create personalized children’s books, where you enter your child’s name and the names of the child’s playmates and pets. The company generates a pre-written story, using the names you provided, to create the professionally bound book.
          While this is a fun gift idea, consider writing your own children’s book, for that special child in your life. For graphics, include your own drawings and photographs or drawings made by the child or another talented family member.
          Create the book on a word processor document, and insert images for each page. If you use Lulu.com as your printer, decide on the ultimate book size, there are a number of book size options. Decide on an ultimate book size before formatting your book.
         Another possibility, consider The Story of the Christmas Village. My children had fashioned a creative village from 3 x 5 index cards. My mother wanted to keep the village forever, yet that wasn’t practical so I took digital photographs of the village, and used them to create a Christmas story, The Story of the Christmas Village. The story told in the book, is actually the true story of the village.
         Children love books, and books make excellent gifts. But, a book you wrote will be a treasured heirloom for that special child in your life.
